I like building things and occasionally investing in people who do the same. Built a couple of companies along the way. I appreciate good design, solid engineering, and craft in all its forms.

Thinking about

I keep circling the same few things: the unglamorous plumbing of finance - regtech, compliance, digital identity - and the buy-and-build side of it, PE and SaaS rollups. Where small, tuned models (SLMs as much as LLMs) are genuinely useful rather than a demo. And lately I can't stop thinking about DeFi, and how alternative assets might open up to people outside the usual rooms.

The other half of my brain lives in the house - KNX, Modbus, BACnet, Matter. I tinker at the protocol level because I enjoy it, and occasionally it even makes the place nicer to live in.
